What to do if you think the firewall is causing problems
After you install Windows Live OneCare you might notice that a program or service may no longer work. This may occur because the Windows Live OneCare Firewall is blocking it. Some programs or services require that you configure Firewall to allow them to function normally.
To change the way Firewall interacts with programs and services, open the Windows Live OneCare Settings dialog box.
Windows Live OneCare Firewall is configured to work with Internet e-mail and instant messaging programs and not to block these programs. If you find that turning off Firewall allows these programs to work normally, contact Windows Live OneCare Technical Support to resolve this issue.
Hardware firewalls are typically part of a broadband router and will work in conjunction with Windows Live OneCare Firewall. This type of firewall filters incoming files and manages connections through different ports. Using both a hardware firewall and Windows Live OneCare Firewall will help to protect your computer from malicious software.
