How do I manually check for updates to Windows Live OneCare?
If you receive a notification telling you that Windows Live OneCare is out of date, or if you want to be sure that you have received all of the most recent updates to your Antivirus or Firewall service, you can check for updates manually.
To check for updates to Windows Live OneCare manually:
  1. Make sure that your computer is currently connected to the Internet.
  2. To open Windows Live OneCare, click the icon in the notification area of your taskbar.

  3. On the Windows Live OneCare main window, under Protection Plus, click Check for updates.

You will see a notification telling you that Windows Live OneCare is checking for updates.

Notes

  • By default, Windows Live OneCare checks for updates automatically when your computer is connected to the Internet.
  • Some updates to the Windows Live OneCare service may require you to restart your computer before the update can take effect.
