Error 1271: How to troubleshoot installation problems caused by a staging folder exception
You can't successfully install Microsoft Windows Live OneCare due to one of the following:
- A folder named Microsoft Windows OneCare Live already exists from a previous installation.
- You installed Windows Live OneCare under one administrator user account, and then you uninstalled it using a different administrator user account.
To resolve this problem, try these solutions in the following order:
If you receive an error, such as Access Denied, when you try to rename or delete the Microsoft Windows OneCare Live folder, try this solution:
If you are unable to change the owner of the folder, or if you are unable to delete the folder after verifying ownership, please note any error messages that you receive and contact Windows Live OneCare Technical Support.
